Obituary of Robert Edward Kicksee
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Dad, Papa and treasured companion.
Bob passed away at LHSC after suffering a cardiac arrest during emergency surgery due to a ruptured abdominal aortic aneurysm.
Dear father of Crystal and partner Mike Laur, Robin and partner David Haynes. Loving Papa to Tabitha (Tabby) Burch and partner Kirk Shively, Pacey Kicksee and partner Jocelyn Hodgetts. Great-grandfather of Morgan and his sister, Belle Shively. Treasured companion of Rosemary Burwell. Brother of Betty Lou Panasiuk. Brother-in-law of Dave Coulter and partner Sandra Strobridge. Bob will also be missed by his many nieces and nephews.
Bob was predeceased by his wife of 41 years, Judy Carol Kicksee (Coulter) and his parents, George Edward Kicksee and Lillian Irene Kicksee (Logan).
Before retiring, Bob had worked the majority of his years as a corrugator operator in St. Thomas, ON at MacMillan Bathurst Inc. After the closing of MBI, he began driving truck for Empey Enterprises in Springfield, ON. Bob always enjoyed going to work, regardless of where, as he made great friends of his fellow co-workers.
Bob spent many years as a volunteer fire fighter for Malahide No. 2 Fire Department - Summers Corners. His family remember fondly the true joy he experienced while attending the numerous parties for “the fire hall”; he could and would dance the night away.
Bob was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed numerous boating and fishing adventures with family and great friends. He would hunt small game with numerous “buddies” and canine companions (Buck, Spot, Penny and Duke). Bob loved dogs and they loved him.
As per Bob’s wishes, there will be no funeral service. Cremation has taken place. Family will gather at Aylmer Cemetery for interment at a later date.
