Obituary of John Anthony Downie

Peacefully, with family at his side, John Anthony Downie passed away on March 17, 2024, in his 73rd year at St Joseph Hospice, London ON. Predeceased by his parents Robert McLarty Downie (2014) and Mary (Melloni) Downie (2001). Loving brother to Mary Lynn Hill (Don), Dale Downie (Joyce), Carol Pepino (Doug), and Janet Downie (Michael Blow). Proud Uncle of Sean Hill (Lisa McGarry), Andrew Hill, Katie Hill, Stephanie Voakes (Richard), Suzanne Powell (Scott Viger), Ian Powell, and great uncle to Owen, Amy, Tristan, Samantha, Avery, Emma, Jordan, Brynnleigh and special G-Pa to Cedella. Cremation has taken place, At Johns request, there will be no funeral or celebration of life. A casual gathering of friends and family will be held at the Byron Legion, 1276 Commissioners Rd W, London on Sunday April 28, 2024 from 2 to 4 p.m. As an expression of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St Joseph’s Hospice London. www.sjhospicelondon.com
